postheadericon Fashion To Figure

I've been hearing some good things about plus size retailer Fashion To Figure. The only reason I hadn't ordered sooner is because there is no store in my state! I do hope they open more stores. I am a follow of the brand on Instagram and I saw that they were having a 40% sale off of regular price merchandise and 50% off clearance. I decided that now was a better time than any to give them a try.

Adelaide Stripe Top Jumpsuit

$45.50
Stripe it chic in our latest one-piece: the Adelaide jumpsuit. A sleek and sexy design, this one-and-done stunner features a plunging v-neck, solid bottoms and tapered ankle for the ultimate on-trend look. Sleeveless, concealed back zip closure.

I decided to go with this jumpsuit because it was just too cute to pass up! I thought the front of the suit was just the right amount of sexy to take you from evening into the night. I also thought it was effortlessly chic. With something like this in your wardrobe, you can look good without even trying!

Indra Mesh Sleeve Bodysuit

$28.90

The Indra scuba bodysuit is a sexy single with edge to spare--long mesh sleeves and a sheer mesh yoke make this design a must for the party circuit. Style with everything from high-waist skirts to distressed jeans. Round neck, long sleeves, pull-on style.

It was love at first sight with this body suit. I have some cute ideas for this one. I hope it fits because I really hate retuning things! I haven't decided about the bra situation. Believe or not I don't have an all white bra! I was thinking of just buying some nipple covers and wearing it without a bra but we will see about that once I'm able to try it on.

Wysteria Shadow Stripe Pencil Skirt

$29.50
Sheer, striped and fit to flaunt, the Wysteria pencil skirt is equal parts flirty and fashion-forward. Paired with a matching crop top, this transparent design is the ultimate trendsetter. Round neck, short sleeves.

I wanted to get a white skirt to wear with the top in case I just happened to attend a white party. Plus I don't have a white skirt in my wardrobe. I almost went with a different white skirt on clearance but I changed my mind because this one is more fitted.

I purchased a size 2, which according to their size chart should fit. I even looked up online what people were saying about sizing to make sure I got the best size for me. I'm crossing my fingers that everything fits the way I envision!!!

So before the discount my total was $103.90. With the 40% off, $41.56 was deducted bringing my subtotal to $62.34. I should've picked up something else because there is free shipping at $75, but instead I paid the $7.95 shipping which brought my final total to $70.29!

Have you purchased anything by this brand? If so please share in the comment section.

postheadericon Instyler

So after years of thinking about it, I finally broke down and purchased an Instyler. If you're anything like me, you've watched the infomercials and wondered if your hair could get as straight as the models....

A tid bit about my hair:

I have natural African American hair. It you are familiar with the hair chart, I have a mix of 3C, 4A, and 4B hair... Mostly 4A. My first time using the Instyler took a while. Not as long as it did the first time I ever flat iron but 45 min is still quite some time.

I've used it twice now. I have to say.that I do like it. I like the fact that you can curl your hair and you don't have to worry about any bends. I also found that my hair wasn't hot to touch like it can sometimes be with a flat iron.

I parted my hair into four sections; two in the front kind of like pigtails and two in the back..... Reminiscent of four corners... Lol. I spray some more heat protectant and set out to work.

Now the first time I used the heat guard. I honestly don't like it because I can't get my roots. If you don't need to get your roots then the heat guard will be good for you. If you don't use it then you have to be careful because you can easily burn yourself.

Now I'm not sure if my sections of hair were too big or what but I found that I had to go over each section about three times to get it straight.

Over all I would say I like it, but I would only purchase it if you can get a good deal on it. If you rarely use heat on your hair then you might think twice about purchasing it. Just keep in that when you do want to use hear you have a straightener and curler in one with this product!

postheadericon Fatkini Edition

There is a new trend hitting beaches near you and it's called a "fatkini"! Basically it's a plus size bikini!

I've been looking at different websites but all of them started at $50 just for either the top or bottom. I would have to spend almost $100 or more for a bathing suit. I don't know about you but I simply refuse!

Luckily I waited until one of the less expensive retailers jumped aboard. Forever 21 that is! Their bathing suits are reasonably prices at around $24.80 - $27.80 for plus sized swim wear.

I've previously purchased two one piece suits from them and love them so when the bikinis came out, I jumped on it!

I almost purchased all three of the "fatkinis" but decided to only get two. There was a all black one for $24.80, a floral one for $27.80 and a cheetah print and black one for $27.80. Because I purchased the black fringe one piece from them, I opted for the prints this time. If available later, I might go back and purchase the black one later. And us I need to see if I like them!

Now for pictures!

postheadericon Forever 21: Plus Size Swimsuit

For anyone who doesn't know, forever 21 has plus size clothing. If you follow my blog then you've seen the countless number of hauls I've done from them.

This time last year f21 had so many cute bathing suits that I wanted them all. This year,... Not so much. At least not yet.

I love that you can get cute suits in Mu size without having to spend an arm and a leg. F21 allows you to be cute on a budget!

I purchased a fringe halter swimsuit for $24.80. This suit comes in black and pink. I went with the black. This is a replica of a more expensive one by Monifc c. Although I live her clothing, it's just well out of my price range. Maybe if I lived near a beach I might invest in a more expensive bathing suit but since I rarely go to the beach and visit the pool maybe 10 times a year, I opted for this one.

I also purchased some boyfriend jeans for $24.80. I wish they had more because I love boyfriend jeans but I have such a hard time finding them in my size.

I added on some bright blue socks for $0.95 to make my total qualify for free shipping.

And now for the pictures!!!...

postheadericon Lane Bryant/Loop 18/Fashion Bug Haul #2

Yes I went back for more. I think I'm addicted to shopping! Anyhoo...This is what I purchased...

$34.00

Get maximum lift under low cut necklines with our cotton boost plunge bra! Padded underwire cups shape and support for cleavage-enhancing power. Adjustable straps and cushioned back closure make this push-up bra an essential below any sexy top.

Comfort and fashion unite in plus size Cacique bras and intimates exclusively by Lane Bryant.

I realized I did not have a grey bra in my collection. Since starting work I've noticed that the cotton bras are the most comfortable for me. I still want the "sexiness" that the plunge bras provide but I need the comfort that cotton provides. This bra does it all!

$69.95

Look your best in this dark wash trouser jean with T3 Tighter Tummy Technology. Built-in control panel firms and flattens the tummy. Elastic waistband provides comfort and reduces gaps. Four pocket design, double button waistband with extended tab, zip fly and belt loops.

I have never tried the T3 pants at LB, nor have I tried petite pants. This will be my first time for both. I've noticed that even though I'm average height, ALL of LB pants are super long on me. I would have to wear 4-5 inch heels in order to make them average so I decided to give the petite (short) pants a try.

$44.99

Finish off your look with this fresh and fun striped blazer. The soft knit, boyfriend-style makes a casual statement that is easy to pair with most looks. Long sleeves roll and tab for alternate styling. Three-button closure.

I love blazers and since I don't have a blue one, I decided to pick this one up. Reviews have stated that it is cut big so I decided to go with my regular size. I usually have to size up since I have large arms and I hate when things are tight on my arms!

$29.99

A striking photo with shimmering accents highlight this loose-fitting tee. Rolled scoop neckline and hem that flows to longer points on either side are also memorable additions. Cuffed three-quarter length sleeves.

I thought the shirt was so cute and different. I need more cute basics in my wardrobe so that I can be comfortable yet stylish while at work. Plus this shirt is definitely a conversation starter!

$24.99

These super comfy boots are a must-have for your cool weather wardrobe. Pull-on styling for in and out ease. Soft and cozy lining inside keeps your tootsies toasty.

Although the reviews weren't too good on these boots I decided to give them a try. I doubt that they will be considered winter boots but I think they will be comfy to wear while at work!

My subtotal before discounts was $203.92. With the 50% off sale I my subtotal was brought down to $101.98. With tax of $6.88 and free HOME delivery, I spent a total of $108.86. Nice holiday deal.

postheadericon Lane Bryant Haul #1

So this weekend LB along with its sister sites had 50% off most everything off of its site. Yes this is what I purchased...

$52.00

Rhinestone-studded Runway Glam multi-way strapless bra makes versatile support sparkle. Go strapless or use convertible straps for a variety of configurations that make sexy, bare-shoulder fashions a breeze. Molded underwire cups and a wide band are supportive and comfortable.

I've been wanting one of the runway bras for a while. I just love sparkle. This one had the right amount and since I needed a strapless bra, it was perfect! This one will definitely need to be handwashed to preserve the rhinestones though.

$44.99

Channel your inner rock star in this faux fur vest with crochet back. Single hook closure. Definitely adds a splash of excitement to anything you pair it with.

I saw a white fur vest at H&M that I loved but since my local store doesn't have plus size....well I just couldn't get it. When I saw this vest at Loop 18 (Lane Bryant sister site geared more so at young junior sized females), I just had to get it. I was slightly turned off by the crochet back but the front of the vest won me over.

Ok so my subtotal before any discounts (and you know I had discounts!) was $96.99. LB along with its sister sites had 50% off their entire sites! With that said, it brought the bra down to $26 and the vest down to $22.50! My subtotal was then $48.50! With tax of $3.27 and free HOME shipping, I spent $51.77! Great deal!

postheadericon Forever 21+ Haul

As the title says I went shopping at F21....Well online anyway. I noticed that I've purchased quite a few pairs of pants lately so I decided to take this opportunity to order some tops.

$19.80

Forever 21+ - A French terry top featuring a news-worthy print with "Love" foil accents. Scoop neck. 3/4 raglan sleeves. Banded hemline and cuffs. Lightweight. Knit.

DETAILS:
- 26.5" approx length from high point shoulder to hem, 44" chest, 42" waist, 19.5" sleeve length from high point shoulder
- Measured from 1X
- 100% cotton
- Hand wash cold, dry flat
- Imported

I thought the top was too cute. I was trying to get something a little funkier to add to my wardrobe. I think this top does just that. I'm not really a gold person but I do look good in warm colors and I have some gold jewelry that will go well with this top!

Blue

Purple

Charcoal
$5.50

Fabulous Finds Faith 21 - This fab feather weight cotton-blend tee is perfect for layering over tanks or under your favorite outerwear. V-neck. Short sleeves. Knit.
- 28" length from high point shoulder to hem, 40" chest, 14" shoulder width, 6.5" sleeve length
- Measured from 1X
- Imported

These V-Necks can be paired with anything and are essential pieces to the basic wardrobe. I wanted more colors but none were available in my size. More than likely F21 will get other colors. They always do. I hope they get some 3/4 length sleeve basic tees!

Black

Fuchsia

Ivory
$9.80

A soft trapeze top featuring a scoop neckline, 3/4 sleeves, and stitched down cuffs. Patch pocket at the bust. Slight high-low hemline. Lightweight. Knit.

DETAILS:
- 33" approx length from high point shoulder to hem, 44" chest, 43" waist, 19" sleeve length from shoulder ridge, 16" shoulder width
- Measured from 1X
- 100% rayon
- Dry Clean Only
- Imported

I adore long length tops so I just had to scoop a few of these tops up. There is one other color that I did not get called "Oatmeal". I just didn't think the color would look good on me.

So with code "F21PLUS10" I received an additional 10% off bringing my subtotal to $59.13. With tax of $3.99 and free shipping, I spent a total of $63.12. Pretty good.

I'm thinking of going back to purchase this cardigan:

$24.80

Forever 21+ - A boyfriend-style cardigan with a Y-neckline, 5 button placket, and argyle pattern at front. Long sleeves. It features a mock pinstriped button up with a basic collar, partial button placket, and button cuffs. Metallic crest buttons. Rib knit trimmings. Medium weight. Knit/woven. Unlined.

DETAILS:
- 27" approx length from high point shoulder to hem, 42" chest, 39" waist, 27.5" sleeve length from shoulder ridge, 16" shoulder width
- Measured from 1X
- Shell: 84% cotton, 13% nylon, 3% spandex; trim: 61% cotton, 39% polyester
- Hand wash cold, dry flat
- Imported
I think argyle print is too adorable and it's rare that I find them in plus size at a low price point. I really want to find a pink button up to bring the pink stitching out in the cardigan. If I can find that then I will definitely go back and purchase it!
